Maths

Our Maths Champion: Mrs. Doran

Maths is a core subject in our school and learning takes place every day. We follow the National Curriculum and use the White Rose Hub Scheme which is a superb Mastery approach to learning. The scheme helps our staff with their planning and assessment and they tailor lessons to meet the children's needs. We have adopted the White Rose Calculations policy and this provides a consistent approach to learning and calculating across our school.

We check children's progress of learning through regular assessments at the end of units of work and also at three data points towards the end of each term. Children in Yrs 2 and 6 are assessed using the end of Key Stage National Curriculum Assessments and children in Yr 4 will be assessed on the Times Tables check set by the DfE. Children are expected to practice and consolidate key learning such as number bonds and times tables etc as homework activities. These activities are set by the class teacher and may include Times Tables Rock Stars
